How Many Hours Of Sleep Do We Really Need?
Being a human, how many hours of sleep do we actually need, it's like the experts say, we need at least eight hours of sleep a day?
Sleep is an important act and natural behavior that every one of us must do every day. In this present era, we are living in perfect times. From every angle no matter are politics, science, technologies or transparency data , we have made great progress by comparing with before. Because of the improvement, lack of sleep will affect us from competing with others.
Do We Really Need Eight Hours Of Sleep?
I believe that many people heard before "we must sleep at least eight hours per day" no matter from rumor or expert's advice. Some people feel fit even lack of sleep and some people feel sleepy even they've been sleeping for ten hours!
Different age has respective sleeping time. Everybody is different when it comes to the total amount of sleep, but most people still fall within the range, which is eight hours of sleep. However, nobody can promise you total eight hours of sleep are able to wake you up feeling totally refreshed in the next day morning.Eight hours have been just an average total of sleeping time. We should try sticking to some guidelines that total sleeping time should be based on your age instead of eight hours.
How Many Hours Is The Correct Sleep Time?
According to National Sleep Foundation (NFS),
Newborns ( 0 - 3 months) : need between 14 to 17 hours of sleep,since babies rarely sleep through the night, it is includes daytime naps.
Older Infants ( 4 - 11 months) : need between 12 to 15 hoursof sleep each day
Age between 1 to 2 years old : need about 11 to 14 hours;
Age between 3 to 5 years old : need about 10 to 13 hours sleeping time
Age between 6 to 13 years old : need about 9 to 11 hours sleeping time
Age between 14 to 17 years old : need about 8 to 10 hours sleeping time
Age between 18 to 64 years old : need about 7 to 9 hours sleeping time
Age 65 years need about 7 to 8 hours sleeping time

We should stick with these guidelines to help ourselves to stay alert and smart during the day. Although we able to build in flex time,
But we should sleep not less than 6 hours or more than 10 hours.
Over much sleep will bring us some downside to the body. For instance, gain weight, weakened immunity, get pimples, high blood pressure and etc. Moreover, it's not only affect our body, in psychological, we will also get some negative effect once overmuch sleep or lack of sleep. For example, feeling low because of overtired, high pressure, irascibility and etc.
How Do We Improve Our Sleep Quality
How do we improve our sleep quality? First of all, we need toensure our bed mattress is suitable.The mattress should not too soft and the our pillow shouldadjust to suitable height,normally 10 cm to 15 cm.
Beside that, we shouldensure our room was dark enough.We should make sure our light lamp is not too bright. Our roomtemperatureshould make suremaintain between 16 to 20 Degree Celsius. We alsocan wear ear plugto filter out the unnecessary noises. Before bedtime we shouldavoid alchohol, caffeine, spicy food and fried food.For those who got reading habit before sleep time, we shouldreplace digital book to paper book,this is because the blue light of cellphone will affect our sleeping quality. We should keep ourselves away from phone before sleep time.
We need to stick to our plan, head to bed at the same time every night, with a fixed schedule, we can get better sleep quality. Before 2 to 3 hours of your bedtime, choose not to eat anything and drink too much water. Alright, these are tips to get a better sleeping quality. Hopefully you get it right and able to form a good habit.
